A specialized device has been developed to support pineapple growers by accurately and safely applying a predefined amount of chemical to the plants during specific growth stages. This innovation significantly reduces farmers' hardships and increases work efficiency. The device, an innovative design by Prabath Tecnova, was mentored by Rachana EnerCare. It is a registered startup, funded by NIAM. (NIAM-a research and higher-education institute operating under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare of India and focusing on agricultural marketing.)
An SMPS-based conversion methodology has been developed to address the challenges of providing EV charging facilities in remote areas. Leveraging the government’s ambitious KUSUM initiative, which will enable approximately 50 lakh solar pumps to operate, this solution utilizes high-voltage DC power from solar pumps and converts it into various DC voltages ranging from 12V to 72V. This makes it possible to charge batteries for diverse applications, including electric vehicles (EVs).
The system enables farmers to charge two-wheelers, three-wheelers (cargo vehicles), and emerging battery-powered tools. Additionally, it supports charging UPS batteries to provide 230VAC output when needed. By adapting existing technology for new applications, this device stands out for its innovation and the significant social impact it creates, making it a unique and versatile solution.
Solar pump has very limited usage. Its capacity will be wasted when pump is not in use. Usually pumps becomes idle in rainy season and many times energy is needed for formers for other purpose too. To overcome this limitation, we has designed a device called “SUNVERTER” which enables to use the same installed solar PV bank to domestic usage, run any single phase machine and also for charging batteries. It can be configured to varying capacity with adjustable DC volts & Dc current. (see paper report in Media page)
Solar heat is used mainly for water heating application. But Mr. Praveen kumar of Mysore had an innovative thought of using it for cooking application. It over comes many limitations posed by present solar cooking system. We are happy to involve in this innovation . It won runner up award in Karnataka state level competition for start-ups elevate 2019.
Its a model specially developed for educating the agricultural college students ,who mainly seve the rural community. Along with wind solar hybrid system with various monitoring adjustable parameters. We also made solar panels with double sided glass to allow sun light/ heat in side for lighting and heating needs. Process of developing solar dryer is on..
In Malnad region areca de husking is mainly done thro machines, which need power of 1-2 hp. Earlier this was done using regular electric supply, which was erratic and voltage was low. Now we have given power thro pump VFD controller , by changing motor to 3phase. Low power cut off is provided thro frequency sense to protect the equipment. Now power is reliable and fed thro renewable source! (see article in Media page)
